HIRSCHLE, Ana Lucia Teixeira; GONDIM, Sonia Maria Guedes; ALBERTON, Gisele Debiasi  e  FERREIRA, Aleciane da Silva Moreira. Stress and well-being at work: the moderating role of emotion regulation. Rev. Psicol., Organ. Trab. [online]. 2019, vol.19, n.1, pp.532-540. ISSN 1984-6657.  https://doi.org/10.17652/rpot/2019.1.14774.

The objective of this study was to test the moderation of up and down emotion regulation strategies in the relationships between perceived stress and well-being at work. Participants included 480 industry workers who completed the work stress scale, the emotion regulation measure adapted to the work context, and the well-being at work scale. The results showed correlations between stress, emotional regulation, and well-being. Stress was a negative predictor, and adaptive (up regulation) and functional (down regulation) strategies were positive predictors of well-being at work. The results also suggest that the perception of high stress is associated with greater use of maladaptive and dysfunctional regulation strategies. One of the conclusions is that controlling the level of stress in the work environment can help the worker preserve well-being, making better use of regulation processes.

Palavras-chave : occupational stress; emotional regulation; well-being.
