MUNDIM, Maria Célia Bruno et al. Assessment of creativity in university students. Rev. psicopedag. [online]. 2014, vol.31, n.94, pp.35-43. ISSN 0103-8486.
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the verbal creativity of university students in the capital city. METHOD: We used Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking. This is composed of six activities that aim to measure ten verbal characteristics of the individual. The test was applied collectively in class and it was answered individually by 90 undergraduates (45 women and 45 men). Psychology and Administration students were divided into three age groups: the first consists of students aged between 17 and 20 years (n=17, mean=19.27 years, SD=0.91), the second aged between 21 and 30 years (n=54, mean=24.55 years, SD=2.76) and the third group (group 3) aged between 31 and 42 years (n=19, mean=35 years, SD=3,44). RESULTS: Multivariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) indicated significant effects for age (F=1.84, p<0.05) for creative features and fantasy (F=3.87, p<0.05). CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that age positively influences a greater expression of creativity in college students.
