Childhood cancer causes impacts on the life of the child and the family, therefore the role of the psychologist using their listening as an intervention in pediatric oncology aims to promote a better quality of life and aid in the construction of coping strategies. This study aimed to identify the main contributions of psychological listening in pediatric hospital oncology to patients undergoing cancer treatment at the hospital. A review of the literature published between 2010 and 2020 was carried out, based on a search in databases. Results indicate the impact of the diagnosis of childhood cancer has repercussions on both the individual and family and in this context, psychological listening, from the point of view of Gestalt-Therapy, as an intervention in-hospital pediatric oncology, have fundamental importance as support in the face of adversity. In conclusion, many changes occur in the life of the child and the family during the oncological illness and for a better adaptation to this context, psychological interventions are necessary through empathic listening and functional tools such as play that allow the creation of coping strategies. in the face of illness.
