This research had as objective to identify the Social Representations of family for a group of teachers of the basic education the city of Araguari-MG. They had been used, as instrument of collection of data, routine situations, identified as: daily situation - pertaining to school and situation notice. The presented situations had allowed the identification of the Social Representations of family, for presenting a diversified language and for they make possible the communication between facts of daily and the behavior emitted in the day the day of the teachers. The situations had allowed to rethink the meanings the behaviors of the people, so that the construction of the Social Representations could be elaborated. The results had demonstrated that, according to this group of teachers searched, the social representation of family still must be organized in the traditional molds, what it seems to be, in the opinion of them, the model adjusted for the development of the individual. These data allow to reflect regarding a reorganization of the contents given in the courses of formation of professors, as well as whom if it thinks about a proposal of intervention, in case that the institutions and the proper teachers if place available to be participating, in the direction to sensetize them for the familiar demands contemporaries.
