KASTRUP, VIRGÍNIA. Art and joint attention: the micropolitical dimension of accessibility. Rev. psicol. polít. []. 2023, 23, 57, pp.412-425.   07--2024. ISSN 2175-1390.

The article discusses the micropolitical dimension of accessibility for students with disabilities at university. It identifies the university as an ableist territory and experiments with inventive strategies to change this scenario. Investing in the power of art, it investigates joint attention practices in a DanceAbility workshop with students with and without disabilities. Starting from Yves Citton’s (2014) ecology of attention, the aim is to analyze different layers of the attentional network where forces and affects circulate. The research uses the cartography method to detect gestures of attention from one another, analyzing the experience of attention to the self and what is described as the “four-wall experience.” It is concluded that artistic practices accessible to all students have the potency to create a territory for the cultivation of joint attention, inducing transformations in the micropolitical dimension of accessibility at the university.
