PACHECO FILHO, Raul Albino. Dictatorship and homosexualities: discourse and symptom. Stylus (Rio J.) []. 2016, 33, pp.201-214. ISSN 1676-157X.

"Dictatorship and homossexualities" is an issue that fosters a dialogue among different fields of knowledge. And psychoanalysis is has its contribution to offer, once since its origins the sexual, the social, and the political have been articulated in it. It is important to notice that political totalitarianism and conservative moralism have always walked hand in hand. The modis operandi of dictatorships is the control of juissances through the standardization of values and behaviors, attempting to suffocate an individual's singularities. In contrast to this, psychoanalysis is a praxis that sustains the relevance of this singularity, of the attention to conflicts and symptoms. Symptom is what comes from the real, subverting the master's discourse. Sexuality is related to an ethics that considers the desire, the unconscious, and the real of juissances, implying a task of permanent construction, in life (a wish to become), departing from a "choice", within the Freudian meaning of the term. From that comes their reconcilability of the psychoanalytical conception of sexuality, both with the one sustained by the totalitarian political regimes and the conservative religious and reactionary moralism of the contemporary churches-enterprises, articulated with the capitalist discourse.
