The purpose of this study is to analyze the religious profile of 148 women interviewed in the study "Drugs, women and violence", evaluating the importance of religion and its relationship with situations of violence and drug use. This multicenter exploratory study was performed in twelve countries, including Latin America. The data was obtained using a close questionnaire applied to a convenience sample of women from Ribeirão Preto (São Paulo), Florianópolis (Santa Catarina), Diadema (São Paulo) and Rio de Janeiro (Rio de Janeiro). Results reinforce the role of religion as a possibility of coping and strengthening, in face of the historical conditions of domination, either in the family or in wider social relationships.
