Specific aims: to know and analyze the thoughts, emotions, and behavior, related to the health treatment of the participants; to identify and analyze their social support sources; to investigate the psychological aspects, treatment compliance and life quality of the population under study; to identify through what people say are their difficulties in following the antiretroviral treatment and their feelings related to the intervention of the cognitive-behavior therapy. Participated in the program 11 HIV-positives that followed antiretroviral treatment and were treated by the public health service in the Southern Region of Brazil. This is a qualitative, descriptive-exploratory study with recording and transcription of eight sessions and semistructured interview for the evaluation of the program.
