COUTO, Luis Flávio Silva. The synthome analyst: one of the functions of the analyst at a general hospital. Epistemo-somática []. 2007, 4, 1, pp.93-109. ISSN 1980-2005.

It’s an attempt to formalize a function of the analyst at a general hospital that goes beyond the listening of a patient. Recognizing the importance of the listening, this text intends to point the existence of another function, which is to allow the organization of fields consistency at a hospital, articulating them through the fourth bow as into Lacan’s last teaching, namely, the synthome. It searches to point the psychoanalyst’s synthome function at the enlacing of demands, among others, from the clinical body, from the staff, patients and families. The proposition’s theoretical basement referred to elements that not RSI can be found in Lacan, Quinet, Nominé, Alicia Arenas, Éric Laurent and Leonardo Gorostiza, quoted in the text. Maintaining himself as an enlacing element, the analyst must be able to perceive the moment to consider his function over, when the elements involved manage another type of enfolding. In this case, the analyst may be discarded from the situation, falling down as a remainder.
