Defense strategies, as they get weak, can promote the banalization of injustices at work's environment and the appearance of practices contrary to ethical values. They can also transform themselves into defensive ideology, aiming to make suffering tolerable. On this study, the objective is to analyze defense strategies built collectively by Detran's aerial monitoring group to cope with the suffering at work and its effects. The method consisted in ten sessions of work psychodynamic's clinic, in what 11 agents of transit participated. The results indicated that the collective defenses built by the group were predominantly of protection and adaptation, such as confidence pact, the strategies of communication and living, the use of humor and the exercise of control, which was seen as an ideology because they believed to be possible to have safety controlling everything.
