Dear readers,

This editorial starts the year with the main aim of reporting the news and achievements of the journal Psicologia: Teoria e Prática during 2022 and to announce the perspectives for 2023.

Aware of the need to reduce the time for publication of the Brazilian journals of Psychology, we are pleased to announce that this has dropped sharply. In the last year, the average time between submission and acceptance of the articles was nine months, and the time between the submission and the publication was up to 12 months. As we have previously mentioned, speed is one of our main goals, so we will continue to work hard to make these numbers even smaller in 2023.

Among the innovations in the field of transparency, we point that, from the second issue of 2022 onwards, we began to provide the name of the editor responsible for processing each article published in the journal. In addition, we have updated our guidelines to encourage authors to deposit their data in public repositories. This practice is optional and is somewhat new in the Brazilian setting but, similarly to other countries, reflects a worldwide trend to significantly expand data transparency, improving access to data and preventing possible fraud.

Regarding visibility, the main item of news in respect of this is the launch of our own Instagram page, @revistapsico. This page will bring information on the profile of the journal and its editors, highlights of articles published in recent issues, testimonials from editors and authors, general information in the field of publishing in Psychology, among others. We believe that this tool will help to increase the sharing of published articles and will contribute to the dissemination and citation of the authors’ work, as we will use it to publish reviews and reels of prominent articles with links to access the full articles, helping to broaden the discussion with other authors, researchers, and the general public. We take this opportunity to thank the commitment of those leading this action, particularly the section editors Prof. Dr. Alexandre Serpa (Psychological Assessment) and Prof. Dr. Natalia Becker (Clinical Psychology) and our intern, Giovanna Manssur. We kindly ask you to follow and share our page.1

Finally, we would like to remind you that the guidelines of Psicologia: Teoria e Prática are constantly updated with adaptations to meet best editorial practices. Therefore, we recommend that authors consult the guidelines published on our website.2

We wish everyone all the best in 2023 and thank the editorial and administrative staff of the journal for their tireless work and to the authors and readers for their valuable contributions and continued interest.

Sincerely,
