The article’s objective is to do reflections about the pathology of some matrimonial attachments emphasizing the connection with the transgeracional psychic transmission concept. This type of domestic violence cannot be understood only as a result of the aggressiveness and/or sadism of one of the pairs, but also the search of masochistic fantasies of the other person satisfaction and the establishment of power relationships in the family (Gomes, 2003) and models of family interaction transmitted among generations. Base on a clinical experience of couple’s psychotherapy we will discuss the great influence of the psychic transmission in the establishment of a violent relationship where the wife victim of couple’s violence repeats her family predecessors’ role.
