Resumen

LOPES, Leonardo. Professional guidance for deficit cognitive people: an experience report. Bol. psicol [online]. 2006, vol.56, n.125, pp. 189-203. ISSN 0006-5943.

This experience was a proposal to provide Professional Guidance to young cognitive deficit carriers, adapting already consolidated models of programs. We selected six among ten interested in participating into the Program, which consisted of thirteen sessions, following four axles of guidance: self-knowledge, conceptions on labor, knowledge of professional abilities and elaboration of an action plan towards inclusion and an occupation to grant autonomy to participants. The Program allowed some accomplishments either at group as at individual level, such as improvement of social abilities and autonomy for choices. Some difficulties that were detected served to reorganize the sessions and even the program, when it was still in course.
