Abstract

LIMA, Tânia Pessoa de  and  FREITAS, Laura Villares de. Laboratory of personality studies: is it possible a “labor-oratory” in a university at the XXI century?. Bol. psicol [online]. 2007, vol.57, n.127, pp. 183-203. ISSN 0006-5943.

This article aims to present, discuss, and also expand, the conception of a scientific laboratory at the university, into the Jungian Analytical Psychology perspective. To do so, it narrates briefly the history of the Laboratory of Personality Studies, presents a group work initiated by the collaborative production of a scientific poster and a research about the history of the laboratories. A parallel is established between the development of individual consciousness and the development of the conception of laboratories. As a conclusion, the article points similarities between older conceptions of laboratories and what may become the future conceptions and guiding principles of its activity, as well as its destination and development at the university.

Keywords : Jungs Analytical Psychology; Laboratory; Group work; Alchemy; Labor-oratory; University.
