Abstract

FARAH, Flávia Helena Zanetti  and  AMARAL, Anna Elisa de Villemor. The panic disorder and the Rorschach comprehensive system. Bol. psicol [online]. 2008, vol.58, n.128, pp. 103-119. ISSN 0006-5943.

The Panic Disorder is characterized by the occurrence of generalized anxiety and development of some physical and psychic symptoms. The goal of this study is to verify the occurrence of typical indicators in Rorschach that could help to assess Panic disorder. The sample was composed by 48 subjects: 24 presenting Panic Disorder and 24 without symptoms. The results of the statistical tests have pointed the variables Fd, m, SumC, and WsumC as being significant, revealing that the patients with Panic Disorder have a greater dependent behavior, have naïve conceptions about their interpersonal relationships and present a type of involuntary cognitive activity that conveys a feeling of loss of control. In addition to these results, a qualitative analysis of MOR responses revealed interesting data which point to the importance of further studies.

Keywords : Panic disorder; Rorschach; System Comprehensive; Psychological assessment.
