Abstract

PARDAL, Aurea Emília Cordeiro Pires  and  BASSIT, Débora Pastore. The unconscious dynamics involved in partners’ choice in marriage. Bol. psicol [online]. 2008, vol.58, n.129, pp. 193-203. ISSN 0006-5943.

Some factors are related to the partners’ choice in marriage. This work takes the Junguian Psychology as the theoretical approach to analyse the question of the partners’ choice in relationships like marriage, considering unconscious dynamics as one of its preponderant factors. The data was obtained from adult patients on psychological care. Marriage is understood as a psychological relationship, originated in the affective link between two different sex adults, which is officially registered. Clinical and theoretical findings suggest that the partner’s choice is influenced by unconscious dynamics of the animus and anima’s archetypes and the relationships maintained with parents and society. The more conscious these influences, the more adjusted the marriage.
