The aim of this study was to identify the predominant learning styles among students and possible differences due to gender, age, year and semester. 242 students of several courses participated, of 2nd to 4th semester which were evaluated with the Índice de Estilos de Aprendizagem (ILS). The results indicated that students showed predominance of the styles of Active / Sensory / Visual and Sequential. Students‘ comparisons by gender and age revealed that men were more visual than women, and students in the age group of 18-19 years presented preference for the visual style. Regarding the academic area, Liberal Arts and Pedagogy were more biased to verbal style and the first also presented preference for reflective style. Students in the second semester showed preference for active style when compared to students of the third semester.
