Abstract

In this article are presented the elementary concepts relative to psychological measure under the point of view of Modern Psychometry, also named Item Response Theory. The main estimative models are presented and also are described the discrimination parameters, difficulty and probability of random correct answer, as well as several relative implications are analyzed to the use of the several study methods. They are also discussed the characteristics of the analysis procedures used for estimate of the characteristic curves of items, characteristic curves of tests, characteristic curves of subject, function of information of item and of test, standard error of measurement, defining the parameters of the measure.
