BAPTISTA, Makilim Nunes; TAKAHASHI, Luis Torahiko; SANTOS, Sonia Maria P. Dos  and  HESSE, Ute. Depression and organizational Coping: evidence of validity for baptista depression scale. Bol. psicol [online]. 2013, vol.63, n.138, pp. 35-47. ISSN 0006-5943.

This study aimed to seek for evidences of validity in support of the Baptista Depression Scale - Adult Version, establishing relationships with external variables. The participants were 82 healthcare professionals who responded to Baptista Depression Scale - Adult Version (EBADEP-A), Beck Depression Inventory - version II (BDI-II) and Organizational Coping Scale (ESCO). The results showed high correlation between the BDI and EBADEP-A, evidencing that they evaluate the same construct, depression. In addition, the correlation between all three instruments suggested that depression and coping are related constructs. The possible relationship between depression and coping at work are addressed in the discussion

Keywords : Depression; coping; validity; work.
