This study aimed to characterize the teaching of psychological assessment in undergraduate courses in Psychology in the State of São Paulo through documentary research. Psychological assessment is an activity that can be exerted only by psychologists and deserves attention during professional education. Curricula of 67 programs were surveyed, containing the course name, course hours load and provided term availability, among other data. In addition, 73 courses descriptions were analyzed within 24 undergraduate programs in order to identify the syllabus, tests teached, literature indicated, instruction strategies and assessment. It was possible to identify information that characterizes psychological assessment teaching, thus allowing the evaluation of the form that this psychological knowledge area is presented in undergraduate Psychology courses in the State of São Paulo
