Abstract

OLIVEIRA-MONTEIRO, Nancy Ramacciotti de; HERZBERG, Eliana; OLIVEIRA, Margareth da Silva  and  SILVARES, Edwiges Ferreira de Mattos. Reflections on ethical issues involved in the psychological supervision. Bol. psicol [online]. 2013, vol.63, n.139, pp. 217-225. ISSN 0006-5943.

The article presents reflections concerning the ethical supervision in Psychology during academic coaching of psychologists in Brazil. Supervision of apprentices comprises activities related to training in undergraduate courses, but lacks a clear definition of their restrictions and responsibilities in legal documents pertinent to training or curricular guidelines. Study about perceptions of trainees concerning their Psychology training supervisors indicated that, beside a general positive view about their supervisors, there are ethical problems involved in the relationship. The ethical practice of the supervisor and the students does not warrant great institutional control. The ethical dimension pertinent to supervision in Psychology needs to be discussed deep and widely to prevent damages that can influence professional training and population served.
