Abstract

RUEDA, Fabián Javier Marín; LIMA, Robisom Carlos de  and  RAAD, Alexandre José. Quality of life and job satisfaction: relationship between scales that measure these constructs. Bol. psicol [online]. 2014, vol.64, n.141, pp. 129-141. ISSN 0006-5943.

The study intended to assess the relationship between quality of life at work and job satisfaction. Data were collected using the Escala de Avaliação da Qualidade de Vida no Trabalho (QVT Scale) and the Escala de Satisfação no Trabalho (EST) in a sample of 241 subjects, of both sexes, aged between 18 and 63 years. Results showed significant positive correlations between all dimensions of the QVT Scale and all factors of the EST, indicating that with the increase of the quality of life at work there was an increase in job satisfaction. When comparing the means of the QVT Scale regarding the classification of the subjects relative to the degree of satisfaction in EST, it was found that subjects classified as 'unhappy' at all the EST factors, were also those who had the lowest scores on factors of the QVT Scale. These results provided evidence for the validity scales, through comparison of tests that assess related constructs
