Abstract

LIMA, Maria José; MACEDO, Rosa Maria Stefanini de  and  CERVENY, Ceneide Maria de Oliveira. New demands for the work of the clinical psychologist regarding social issues. Bol. psicol [online]. 2015, vol.65, n.142, pp. 45-58. ISSN 0006-5943.

Motivated by reflections constructed during the dissertation research, which investigated psychologists who have been working in institutions dedicated to attend families in situations of social vulnerability, this article aims at addressing participants' questions, raised by this observation, concerning the need to create new resources for the psychologist's procedures when facing poverty and social exclusion issues. These questionings, which challenged the representation and significance of their work, can lead to a new setup for Clinical Psychology, considered in this case as Social Action; and are presented and analyzed here based on the reflections and practices of researchers who use as reference the New-Paradigmatic Systemic Thinking

Keywords : Clinical Psychology; social action; systemic thinking.
