The Sociedade de Psicologia de São Paulo was created in November 9 of 1945 completing, 70 years of existence in 2015. Its name was changed by legal exigencies to "Associação de Psicologia de São Paulo". This article reports part of its history and of the ceremony to celebrate this date, in which participated several ex-presidents and other significant persons in this history. It was emphasized important facts to the Psychology development in Brazil, such as the introduction of Psychology as a discipline obligatory in the curriculum of Teacher's College, as well in other graduate courses, such as Law School, Philosophy, Medicine and Pedagogy. Also remembered were the USP Psychology Graduation course creation in 1958, as well as the fight for the profession regulation, the creation of the Federal Council of Psychology, the Regional Councils and Boletim de Psicologia
