Abstract

SILVA, Eni Ribeiro da  and  RUEDA, Sabián J. M. Intelligence assessment using myokinetic psychodiagnosis - PMK. Bol. psicol [online]. 2016, vol.66, n.145, pp. 199-209. ISSN 0006-5943.

This article aims to determine if the PMK could be used to assess intelligence. The sample consisted of 128 subjects aging from 18 to 65, men and women, with educational levels ranging from elementary school to to postgraduate degree, who were submitted to the PMK, individually, and collectively to Intelligence Test (TI). The items of PMK were evaluated qualitatively by three judges with expertise in interpreting the test, considering 15 items described in the literature as intelligence indicators. Scores in TI were correlated in the results to the total score of the PMK, with a negative correlation, significant and moderate (r = -0.462). The most recurrent items on the PMK were irregularities in Stairs and Zigues-zags, while less frequent items were winding displacement and angles garland. We discuss the possibility of PMK as a tool to assess the cognitive level
