The work features a clinical case in an interdisciplinary approach: the psychoanalytical set is confronted with the thoughts of philosopher and theologian Paul Tillich, taking into consideration the clinical history within a theoretical framework that includes the sacred dimension. The predominant theme is the effect of religious experience on feelings of abandonment, and in which way the psychic make-up of the patient is modified through devotion.
