Abstract

RAMOS, Maria Beatriz Jacques. The scorpion and the frog: the point of perversion. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2010, n.33, pp. 91-100. ISSN 0100-3437.

This paper begins with a story about the difficulties of both psychic transformations, by pointing to the intersubjectivity ways, and membership in the identification process. The point of perversion! Reading about the perversion theme enables the revision of concepts such as pathologic narcissism and revenge, as well as the analysis of deviations in relation to others from the "possible" images of themselves. Images full of physical and emotional marks that comes from unsatisfied needs, from not repressed drives with a life destructive tone and it deconstitutes the importance of care, marriage and alliances. However, there are points to question about in this story. Are there traces of evil in the Scorpions and in the frog? What characterizes the behavior of the Scorpions and of the frog? In the parable we see a pact that leads the characters to rediscover their origins, but the sting is stronger than empathy, the network over the past dominates the future.

Keywords : Narcissism; Pathological narcissism; Perversion.
