Abstract

CAMPANARIO, Isabela Santoro  and  PINTO, Jeferson Machado. Devastation and autism. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2011, n.36, pp. 93-102. ISSN 0100-3437.

Autism is a study capacity where we can frequently see devastation and its occurrence. Devastation shows unlimited pain. It’s not a delineated pain as in a symptom. A hypothesis that we have is that, because of this endless pain, the autism parents finish moving away from their children. This was seen by the researchers as a lack of affect, an absence of mother’s desire, a ‘cold’ mother, or motherly depression. At cases cared in the first months of live some analysts obtain, by making possible the tie of the children with the functional motherly agent, to revert the devastation canvas shown by the parents, therefore reverting devastation also in the children, switching off the risk factors for autism. Despite this devastation not being autism exclusivity, for its transtructural, we believe that it very well applies to this pathology, thus being the motive to investigate the subject: devastation and autism. We have our own clinical case study of a child attended since the fifth month of life through a mother-child psychoanalysis where the risk signs for autism were turned off.

Keywords : Risk factors for autism; Mother-child early psychoanalytical treatment; Devastation.
