Abstract

DIAMANTINO, Rui Maia. Debris, the metaphor: a return to the "Where Signorelli" Freud. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2013, n.39, pp. 113-118. ISSN 0100-3437.

In this paper we make a theoretical approach on the metonymic remains, a theme addressed by Jacques Lacan in his "The Seminar 5 - Formations of the Unconscious". An articulation of the Lacanian proposition with the Signorelli case self-reported and discussed by Freud on his work. We address the lapses in speech analysis, focusing on the neologism’s enigmatic aspect, which assumes the condition of significant and metaphor, pointing to the desire enunciated by the subject of the unconscious. Thus, Signorelli, an experience of the founder of psychoanalysis, reveals the unconscious and the multiple meanings associated with significant, where castration anxiety related to death and sexual enjoyment emerges as the most pregnant. The experience of Freud shows up today, since that is also experienced in the course of analysis by the analyst and the patient, as in the account of the Signorelli case where Freud demonstrates the link between psychoanalysis and the signifier and language. That enables the understanding of the mechanisms of repression and resistance. It is proposed, then, from the statements of Freud and Lacan’s teaching that the stumbling speech is a fleeting enunciated desire, which captures the debris that may exists in the metonymic treasure of a signifier which refers to the truth of the subject.
