Abstract

Connections between cinema and psychoanalysis. Internet and video games addiction, possible connection to new kinds of murder. Analysis of Ridley Scott’s movie Gladiator. Comparison between the film’s plot, delected scenes and actual history. Psychoanalytical interpretation of the director’s and screenplay writers changes: suppression, splitting and negation. Combat scenes enlarged. Intrinsic violence of the imaginary’s ways of function. Content alterations which could increase such characteristics. Sadistic centered bliss. Hypothesis around the form and content of the imaginary, used by violent movies and games.
