Abstract

MONTEIRO, Marli Piva. Love and Art. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2014, n.42, pp. 81-86. ISSN 0100-3437.

Artistic creation in any field has always been viewed as a lonely and painful work. To accept that a couple of artists can experience an intense sexual relationship, while living together and producing great work seems to be an utopic notion. Women, mainly, are considered disciples or dependent on men. The author questions this presumption in an attempt to demystify it. The subject, in relation to his creative work, develops a dual narcisistic relationship with no room for a third one. A couple of geniuses, in reality, is the meeting of two pairs each one fusioned on his/her creative work.

Keywords : Criativity; Narcisism; Dual relationship; Couples of geniuses.
