Having translated the German text “Wiederholen, erinnern, durcharbeiten” (Repeating, remembering, revisiting), by Michael Kolnberger (Salzburg, Austria, 2008), into Portuguese, in the present article I first present some biographical data about Igor Alexander Caruso (1914-1981), listing some of his most important works. After that, I point out a number of linguistic facts which may assist in the process of interpreting the psychoanalytic text. The aim is both shortly revisiting the personal and professional trajectory of the psychoanalyst Caruso and briefly pointing out specific language resources which may be decisive as instruments for the analyses of patients’ reports.
