This paper has the goal of relating our experience with discussion groups about the hospitalization using music and painting whose management is psychoanalytically oriented. By the methodological point of view, we develop groups with a meeting of around one hour and fifteen minutes each one with patients and their companions. There are musical presentations before those groups. Paintings about the hospitalization experience are produced at the group meetings. The subject of language comes up with desires, pain and fantasies in movements of verbal associations. Among other aspects, the analysis of our activity shows possible changes in the patients and their companions. We consider that the interfaces between psychoanalysis and the arts enable peculiar shades to the speech in hospital.
