Abstract

This paper consist in a literature review concerning the child role in the contemporary family, also, its implications for her psychic development. That said, family can be understood as the institution responsible for the cultural inscription of children in society, through their subjective relations and social ones. In this regard, it is essential the miss of lack, in either significant transmission, by the maternal figure, or in the castration, by the father figure. What is acknowledged in the current family context is the need of constant enjoyment so lack it is not missed, therefore, not allowing the emergence of the desiring subject. Thus phenomenon makes the child establish a controlled relation with the enjoyment, since the child is placed in evidence, in the attempt to avoid lack.
