Freud proposed over his theory three impossibilities that Lacan later defined as arising from lack of significant to cover the entire universe of the speaking being: it is impossible to exhaust the repressed unconscious, to educate all drives, to govern all. Civilization speaks, human beings speak, but the symbolic dimension does not account for everything. The text intends to work out the effects of imaginary dimension in these three fields of culture.
