Abstract

MALLMANN, Cleo José. Scopophilia: on what does the virtual world feeds?. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2016, n.46, pp.45-53. ISSN 0100-3437.

This text initially presents a theoretical review of the scopophilic drive. It is based mainly on Freud, supported by Fenichel and other contemporary experts on the subject, such as Bergeret and Marli Piva Monteiro. Following, it shows how the internet particularly, but also other forms of visual communication such as cinema, photography and television, use and explore this drive, the drive to obtain pleasure in watching, be it in an imaginative way, be it in a way to potentiate perverse aspects. The exploitation of the pleasure in watching, for commercial and lucrative ends, is also another evident fact in our reality. At last, a mention to the sublimation of this drive, which makes way for curiosity, learning and researching.

Keywords : Drive; Scopophilia; Voyeurism; Pleasure on watching; Erogenous Zone.
