Abstract

SILVA, Gilberto Lucio da  and  PASSOS, Maria Consuêlo. A place to call their own: use of tattoos for teenagers in socio-educational programs. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2016, n.46, pp. 67-76. ISSN 0100-3437.

In the critical analysis of the implementation of a tattoo removal program for young offenders, through the articulation of the current statute for body marks (Ortega, 2008) and the concept of fighting for Recognition, by Axel Honneth, we sought to understand how, in contemporary societies, each subject seeks to create a place in the world for himself. This articulation allowed us to understand the body marks as resistance to uprooting the matrices of meaning in the life of the teenager in conflict with the law. This essay revels that it is necessary to collate the legal proposal to characteristics from a context in which the teenager hardly feels like an heir and a translator of norms and cultural values of their family and their environment.

Keywords : Tattoos; Psychic place; Recognition; Socio-educational programs.
