Abstract

SAMPAIO, Marisa Amorim  and  CAMAROTTI, Maria do Carmo. Malaise on the triad health professional-parents-infant and its reflexions in the initial bonds. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2016, n.46, pp. 105-113. ISSN 0100-3437.

For psychoanalysis, malaise is placed in the field of subjectivity and intersubjectivity. Malaise would be caused, among other reasons, by the superposition between body and organism. This paper develops reflections about the possible effects of malaise in the baby, considering the initial bonds that delimit and leave marks in his body. These bonds, which are considered fundamental to the unification between psyche and body, are situated in the context of relationships developed between health professional, parents and babies. The paper also refers to the role of the health professional in mediating maternal/child care and the baby; these reflections take vignettes from a research developed with an application of Esther Bick´s infant observation, focusing on the assistance to dyads accompanied by a health team from prenatal to childcare. The malaise will also be discussed as to its reflexes in the professional´s body, as a support to countertransference, to the demands and to unknowing, transferred by the parents and the baby. It is through the “symbolic pregnancy” that the analyst can think the unthinkable in the “womb of his mind”, opened to receive the malaise and helplessness, throughout the intersubjective experience that functions as containment, digesting, recognizing and naming elements coming, also, from his own psychic matrix. A reflection on the importance of recognizing the reflexes of malaise in the professional's body as a support for the countertransference, demands and non-knowledge transferred by the parents and the baby is developed.
