Abstract

BARBIERI, Cibele Prado. What does psychoanalysis have to say about politics?. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2017, n.48, pp. 89-97. ISSN 0100-3437.

The author argues that psychoanalytic experience determines a field that influences and articulates with other fields of culture. The psychoanalytic discourse is one of the four modalities of the radical discourses proposed by Lacan to mathematize the psychoanalytic experience, determining its own field. The field of politics, like that of art and others, is not excluded from a reading and an interference, based on the knowledge of psychoanalysis since its origin, in the essentially political Freudian text.

Keywords : Politics; Psychoanalysis; Lacanian left; Capitalism; Democracy; Melancholia.
