Abstract

SOUZA, Aurélio. To become a man and to become a woman. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2017, n.48, pp. 127-134. ISSN 0100-3437.

To deal with Sexuality, gender and identity, the author considers what happens in the practice of an Analysis in Intent and its effect on the social scene. The revolution that Freud produced was not to reveal a pansexualism in the human, as is often said. Like Lacan, he showed that, unlike what happens to animals, the sexuality that contemplates the being-of-language-and-of-sex is precocious and does not keep any harmony between Man and Woman determining that one is not born Man or Woman. From the seventies, Lacan proposes developments that the author approaches from questions that will be answered throughout the text, such as: How does the sex-condition of being-of-language-and-of-sex constitute? How can this being-of-language-and-of-sex become a Man or become a Woman? What do someone enjoy in these sexual mismatches?

Keywords : Sexuality; Gender; Identity; Subject; Language; Lalíngua; Othersex; Enjoyment; Sexed position.
