Abstract

The use of fantasy in literary writing is discussed by the investigation of some books by Ohran Pamuk, recipient of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Literature, namely: My father's suitcase, Others colors, The naive and the sentimental Writer and Istanbul, with emphasis on the first. With Freud, Lacan, and commentators, one compares the approach of fantasy on literary doing and analytical treatment from the discussion of Pamuk's indications of his creative process. In the end, some points of approximation and distancing of the destiny given to the fantasy in the two above cited practices are mapped, taking into account the functions of the constructions, the transference, the well-saying and the knowledge from the places of analyst, analyzing, writer and reader.
