Abstract

RIBEIRO, Otacílio José. Tristes Gerais: dams of fear and abandonment. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2019, n.51, pp. 125-129. ISSN 0100-3437.

Faced with a scenario of destruction and death, in a clash of reality and reality, this article aims to think in a macro way about the impact suffered by the survivors on their subjectivity, reflecting on their fear and their abandonment. Fear affection is inherent in the psyche and abandonment may favor openness to social relations. However, to what extent does the disarticulation of fear of abandonment make possible an emancipatory political action. One that recognizes individuals as subjects of law and belonging to a community? Here we take the concept of abandonment based on Freud ([1895] 1994) in the ‘Project for a scientific psychology’, presented as the first experience of frustration. In the first encounter with the Other, the subject is thrown to his own devices, marking, since then, the psychic record of all moral experiences; with this exit, the experience of subjectivity and the human condition is inaugurated.

Keywords : Fear and abandonment; Political subject; Ethics of psychoanalysis.
