Abstract

ABREU, Scheherazade Paes de. History: the subject's center of gravity. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2020, n.53, pp. 175-182. ISSN 0100-3437.

History, the subject's center of gravity, is the title chosen for this article because it includes a certain vital tension in that Lacan's statement. The subject has a history, which is material for the analysis' work. The story is both history and narrative. This reconstruction task is made by the patient, and the analyst is responsible for the act, which consists in authorizing this task. The relevant part is what is reconstructed. The writing of the reconstruction of history is also a factor that favors the erosion of meaning, and stems from the reading of history. The possibility of reading in another way comes into play here. Therefore, narrating has corrosion effects on the subject. History is defined as the reading we have of it. To what extent can history be thought of as contingency in the analytical experience, and its relation to the truth?

Keywords : Constructions in analysis; History; Narrative; Reading a symptom.
