Abstract

FLORES, Juan. Psychoanalysis: the impact of social reality.Translated byBernardo Maranhão. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2021, n.55, pp. 17-31. ISSN 0100-3437.

The questioning of "objectivity" presupposes that all theory is approached from a place and that this presupposes accepting the existence of a "bias". Therefore, it is necessary to admit that the observable panorama depends on the observer's point of view, and then to renounce the pretensions of totality of "universality" of the observed. The assumption of this perspective can lead to recognizing the implication of the place from which one works and thinks. However, this taking a party assumes a perspective that takes into account the inevitable crossing of social conflict and the historical contradiction in every endeavor of knowledge. The only "objectivity" to be expected would be one that does not hide its values, but consciously and explicitly assumes the presuppositions that support it.

Keywords : Psychoanalysis; Objectivity; Ideology; Countertransference; Social Conflict.
