Abstract

POKORSKI, Luís Antônio Franckowiak. The mask as clothing and metaphor of a time: new possible and impossible. Estud. psicanal. [online]. 2021, n.56, pp. 99-104. ISSN 0100-3437.

The present essay proposes a reflection about the analyst, the clinic, and the psychoanalytic institution, configured from the reality imposed by the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, in which society sought and implemented strategies and alternative solutions in the face of the immense challenge that emerged. The human being asserts and subjectifies themselves in the face of obstacles that are part of existence. In addition to being a profound metaphor, the mask has become a vital piece of clothing, which leads to the imperative of thinking about being an analyst, the clinical practice, and the meaning of the psychoanalytic institution. In a pandemic scenario, you can't drop the mask, even though, analytically, the possibility of it falling off is healthy. Freud and contemporary authors give us theoretical support

Keywords : Masks; Psychoanalysis; Virtuality; Clinic; Institution.
