Psychoanalytic theory is always very complex. There are many peculiarities and, due to its vast development, many doubts may arise during clinical practice. At a time of pandemic like the one we are currently experiencing, many challenges have arisen and, therefore, thinking about this relationship between theory and practice is so important. Therefore, this paper aims to reflect on the difficulties that many professionals presented during this period in relation to the application of psychoanalytic techniques in their daily activities in the office, at this time in an online framework, highlighting the importance of Freud's proposition about the tripod of psychoanalysis
