JUNQUEIRA FILHO, Luiz Carlos Uchôa. The dilemma of human language: fragmentation, composition and concentration. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2007, vol.30, n.44, pp. 79-84. ISSN 0101-3106.

The outgrowth in the human being of a speech function and the development of different tongues are phenomena to be analysed concurrently. Taking the "linguistic needs" of the psychoanalytical process as background, this paper intends to suggest that some basic mechanisms master the evolution of tongues and also the creation of the particular language between analyst and analysand. Three mechanisms are introduced: fragmentation, composition and concentration. To illustrate them, I mention the examples of the origin of tongues, the birth of pidgin tongues, the concentration of tongues in a globalized world and a brief reference to a clinical situation.
