Abstract

HERRMANN, Fabio  and  HERRMANN, Leda. Freud’s thought and psychoanalysis: the paper attrition. Ide (São Paulo) [online]. 2009, vol.32, n.48, pp. 61-73. ISSN 0101-3106.

The author investigates his theory of the analogue in Freud’s written work by using a metaphor - the paper attrition. This metaphor has the strength of transforming an author’s written thought into an objectified product, whether the author be a psychoanalyst or not. In this article, Moses and Monotheism (1939) is selected to indicate that the Freudian way of thinking and constructing theories remains hidden in the theory that was passed on paper, which the reader transforms into doctrine. It is the Freudian doctrine that is transmitted in psychoanalytic training and in psychoanalytic movement, impeding the identification and acknowledgement of the Freud’s thinking machine.
