This work attempts to make a presentation of Grete Stern’s photomontages, which were her collaborations in order to illustrate the column “The psychoanalysis will help you” for the Argentinean magazine Idilio. It attempts to catch Grete Stern in the very moment she accepts this kind of professional work “in collaboration” and proposes the mode of the photomontage in order to realize it. Finally it compares the use of relative proportions in Grete Stern pieces with its presence in Walter de la Mare’s roman: Memoirs of a Midget (1921), which appears in one of her photomontages: “Dreams with fruits”.
