The author brings the basic standpoints about love in Sufism - the Islamic mystical tradition − in order to build a counterpoint to Freud’s conception of love. In this peculiar dialogue between Islamic mysticism and psychoanalysis, the author considers that oedipal or psychic love is never detached from the borders of religious narratives and its pneumatic roots.
